Raccoons are attracted to any environment that is quiet, dark, and without much human activity. Raccoons will enter your home by climbing or digging and look for places that seem uninhabited and infrequently occupied. The most common places to find raccoons on your property include:
- Basements: Basements are typically dark and quiet and not frequently visited, so raccoons can camp out for a week before ever realizing that you live there too!
- Attics: Attics are also frequently ignored, so raccoons will hide out and enjoy the space. Attics with stored food and cozy places to hide, like piles of old bedding and your wedding dress, will definitely be a hit with raccoons.
